Dancing is a form of expression, and we all have our relationship with it. Some of us can’t live without it, some of us like it occasionally and some will stay away from it no matter what.

Growing up we all danced. As kids most of us had lots of freedom to be silly, perform or just play. But as we grow up, dance changes and becomes a social event, a performance that fails to be an expression of freedom. Like with anything else in life, we hold on to what is comfortable and try to stay away of what feels unsafe.

5Rhythms is offering a door to authenticity. A concrete map that unites body, heart and spirit through breath and movement. It is not just free dance, nor just creative expression, or even simply conscious movement, 5Rhythms is a map to the self, experienced by thousands around the world.

The practice has deep roots. Created by Gabrielle Roth in the 1970s, it is the first discipline to use dance as a way of self-exploration, personal transformation and inner search. And to this day, it represents the starting point and inspiration for many other movement practices.

There are no steps or choreography to follow, and it doesn’t matter what our physical ability is. Together we create the space to explore and express whatever is there for you waiting for a chance to emerge.
