ABOUT THE COURSE
When we improvise we are true, we are our authentic self.
And whatever we do on stage is, in some way, a reflection of what we do in our life, of who we are. Becoming aware of this is our only purpose.
During the course we are going to learn online Playback Theatre, experiment with it to find new ways of expression and use it as a tool to become more aware of ourselves.
Playback Theatre is a form of improvisational theatre where 4 actors and one musician improvise on the spot, starting from stories shared by the audience. The process itself is a cycle, where tellers can see their story played back by the actors, watching their emotions being mirrored.
Our group is open to people from all over the world. Being part of an international ensemble is an enriching experience, as it gives us the chance to include diversity in our discourse and become aware of what unites us as well as what makes us unique.
This course is a good chance for beginners who want to learn more about Playback Theatre as well as for intermediate or advanced practitioners who want to experiment more, go deeper and challenge their creativity. Sometimes the group will practice together and other times the group is going to be divided according to everyone’s personal experience with PT.
We are going to meet on a weekly basis for 10 weeks.
BASIC INFO
The FREE TASTER is happening Tuesday 11th of January at 8.30 PM Central Europe Time on Zoom.
The course Experimenting with Playback Theatre is happening every Tuesday from the 18th of January to the 15th of March at 8.30 PM Central Europe Time on Zoom.
This practice is based on the sharing of our personal stories with the group.
The spoken language will be English.
No previous experience is needed.
